Waylon Wyatt has announced his debut album, Dustpiles, due out July 17th. The 19-year-old folk-country artist from Hackett, Arkansas wrote the record between Nashville, Oklahoma, and Arkansas without a set timeline, collaborating for the first time with an outside group of songwriters and producers including Carter Faith, Joe Becker, Tofer Brown, and Anderson East.

Alongside the announcement, Wyatt shares new single “But There Was A Time,” produced by Becker and co-written by Brett Truitt. Built around slide guitar and dark acoustic textures, the track explores the feeling of reconnecting with someone who once meant everything to you, only to find the relationship may not have carried the same weight for them.

“The biggest factor is the ending title track called ‘Dustpiles.’ It’s a witty way of referring to how love should be but in a darker manner: finding that special someone who you are so close and secure with, and in the end the two of you ultimately become two piles of dust.”

Dustpiles follows a strong run of recent singles. Earlier this year Wyatt released “Didn’t Forget,” featuring Wyatt Flores, and “In Loving Melody,” produced by Ian Fitchuk (Noah Kahan). His most recent release, “Dead Man Walkin’,” drew notice for blending blues and roots influences with the country-Americana sound.

Wyatt is currently on his headlining “Everywhere Under The Sun” tour and has support dates with Sam Barber and the Turnpike Troubadours on the horizon, along with festival appearances at Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, and CMA Fest’s Chevy Riverfront Stage on June 7.
