Zach John King has announced a new single, “Beneath the Pines,” due out this Friday. The Georgia native shared a clip of himself performing the song at the Grand Ole Opry, captioning it: “your summer wedding song is out Friday.”

From early returns, the preview makes the billing feel earned. From the waltzy, slow-dance feel, to the expressive, romantic lyrics, this is definitely a love song through and through, “I swear I could die right here and say I’ve had it all,” King sings, “slow spinning you around barefoot while the whisper wheels. Indigo in the sky, blue in your eyes, girl if I could, this would be the place I’d stop time.”

King is a Fayetteville, Georgia native who fronted an indie-rock band through college before making the move to Nashville in 2021. He spent his early Nashville years pursuing songwriting by day and waiting tables by night, including a stretch at The Twelve Thirty Club off Broadway.

Since then, King has opened for Morgan Wallen on the “I’m the Problem” tour and released the Slow Down EP in 2025. He recently performed at Stagecoach and announced his first headlining tour for the fall, with several dates already sold out.

As of yet, details about whether “Beneath the Pines” is tied to a larger project have not been announced. The single will be out everywhere this Friday.
