Gavin Adcock and Hudson Westbrook have announced a new collaborative single, “Cheap Thrills,” set for release this Friday, May 29th. The two shared a teaser clip on Instagram previewing the track.
The snippet leans into familiar territory for both artists, self-destructive habits, late-night impulses, and the uncomfortable gap between knowing better and doing it anyway. “Called my ex to see if she’d pick up, it’s wrong but it’s feeling so right,” the lyrics go on a teaser clip Adcock shared to Instagram. “Blacked out on the front end of a bender, act out when it’s calling my name — hate how it ends but love how it feels, I’m a sucker, I’m always searching for cheap thrills.”
Adcock, has been on an impressive upward trajectory, recently announced as a supporting act on the Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan Double Down Tour stadium run this summer. He’s also released a string of singles since his third LP came out last Fall, including the raucous “Wannabe,” and the more mellow “Colorblind.”
The pairing makes natural sense. Westbrook is a 21-year-old Stephenville, Texas native who built a grassroots following from Lubbock before going viral in 2024 with his debut single “Take It Slow.” His career took off quickly from there, with follow-up hits including his current single “Painted You Pretty,” which is currently climbing the country radio charts.
“Cheap Thrills will be out everywhere this Friday.
