After weeks of teasing, Gavin Adcock has revealed his next single “Wannabe’s” release date, which is slated to be out everywhere on May 1st, this coming Friday. Starkly reminiscent of the Georgia-based bro-country movement of the 2010s.

The song follows a string of recent releases, including “Colorblind,” “Perfect Man” and his star-studded collaboration project Country Never Dies, which featured guest assists from the likes of Vincent Mason, Jake Worthington, and many others. In a very short period of time, Adcock has established himself as a commercial force

The chorus lays out the thesis plainly:

If I wasn’t then I wannabe / sipping on a red can / dipping on some wintergreen / same hat same boots same jeans / bass pro mossy oak anything / I still like Skynyrd and I still like Jones / call Bulldog Country my home sweet home / it’s the way I’ve been and the way I’m gonna be

In 2026, Adcock has built off his breakout year in a big way, joining Morgan Wallen on tour, as well as launching his own headlining run, “The Day I Hang It Up” tour.

“Wannabe” will be out everywhere this Friday.
