This evening, Sam Barber announced that his sophomore album Broken View is set for release on Friday, April 3rd.
The news arrives during a busy stretch for the Missouri native, who has been steadily building anticipation with a pair of recent singles. Barber released “Borrowed Time” last Friday, following the earlier duet “Fear In God” with fellow singer-songwriter Avery Anna two weeks prior. Both tracks offer an early glimpse at the sound and themes expected to shape Broken View.
Barber has quickly emerged as one of the more prominent young voices in the country and Americana space, gaining traction quickly with a wailing baritone and a stripped-down folk and heartland rock sound on the back of one buzzy single after another.
The album announcement also comes as Barber continues his “American Route Tour,” a run of more than 20 performances across theaters, amphitheaters, and festivals throughout the United States. The tour began in January and includes stops across the South, Midwest, and East Coast, with upcoming shows scheduled across the country before wrapping up in early June.
With Broken View arriving April 3 and new music already rolling out, Barber appears poised to carry that momentum into the next leg of his rapidly growing career.
