The Red Clay Strays announced Wednesday that their third studio album, Grateful, will be released on June 5th. The Mobile, Alabama band also released a new single, “Demons In Your Choir,” alongside the news.
“Demons In Your Choir” is a choir-backed ballad with gospel influences, previewed earlier this month by keyboardist Sevans Henderson. A limited-edition 7″ vinyl, featuring the new single on the A-side and “If I Didn’t Know You” on the B-side, with cover art by Abe Partridge, was released in a limited run of 150 copies.
The single is the band’s third release in roughly six months in a cycle that started with the punchy “People Hatin'” back in November. In February, the band followed with “If I Didn’t Know You,” described as their first official love song since “Wondering Why,” accompanied by a music video featuring comedian Matt Rife. Whether all three singles will appear on Grateful has not been confirmed.
The band, Brandon Coleman (lead vocals, guitar), Drew Nix (guitar, vocals, harmonica), Zach Rishel (guitar), Andrew Bishop (bass), John Hall (drums), and Sevans Henderson (keys), are at the top of their game commercially, standing as the unrivaled biggest band in country music. With sold-out shows at Madison Square Garden on schedule, they’ve also cemented themselves as one of the best live draws in all of music today.
Grateful will be out everywhere on June 5th.
