The Red Clay Strays have shared a short clip of an unreleased ballad called “Demons In Your Choir,” posted by keyboardist Sevans Henderson. The track, due out April 23rd, features a church choir and draws on gospel influences.
The preview includes the lyric: “I could pull you from the fire and then maybe I could save you from those demons in your choir,” complimenting the churchy, choir-backed arrangement.
The announcement is the band’s third single release in roughly six months. In October of last year, they released “People Hatin’,” a track written during April studio sessions that was fast-tracked to single status following the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk on September 10th. The band discussed the decision on The Joe Rogan Experience, with frontman Brandon Coleman saying the event prompted them to prioritize the song’s message.
In February, they followed with “If I Didn’t Know You,” billed as the band’s first official love song since their breakout hit “Wondering Why,” accompanied by a music video featuring comedian Matt Rife. As of yet, there’s no word on when the band’s third studio album will arrive, or whether these three singles will be included on it.
“Demons In Your Choir” will be out everywhere on Thursday, April 23rd.
