This evening, Post Malone shared that his new single “Cold” featuring BigXThaPlug will be out on Friday, November 21st. The track arrives ahead of Malone’s scheduled halftime performance at the Dallas Cowboys’ Thanksgiving Day game against the Kansas City Chiefs on November 27th.
If there was any question as to whether Posty would stick around country music for longer than F-1 Trillion, this track seems to certify that he’s keeping his boots and belt buckle on a while longer yet. The song is right in line with the radio-ready, country-pop sound.
From the snippet Post shared on Instagram, production incorporates country-trap elements, consistent with Malone’s 2024 album F-1 Trillion and BigXthaPlug’s August release, I Hope You’re Happy. Filming for the music video concluded last week at a ranch with a campfire setup, reflecting the artists’ Texas backgrounds, Malone from Grapevine and BigXthaPlug from Dallas.
Malone’s Cowboys performance, part of The Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Kickoff halftime show at AT&T Stadium, will mark the 29th edition of the annual tradition. The Grapevine native, a longtime Cowboys fan, stated: “I’m from Texas. I grew up a Cowboys fan and have been watching this halftime show for years. It’s a real honor to be part of the Red Kettle Kickoff with The Salvation Army and the Dallas Cowboys and help bring hope to so many people.” The game kicks off at 3:30 p.m. CST on CBS.
“Cold” will be out everywhere on Friday.
