Exactly one year after the release of his sophomore album, One Thing at a Time, Morgan Wallen has released the “Abbey Road Sessions,” a series of videos on his YouTube channel featuring acoustic covers of some of his songs, including an unreleased song called “Lies, Lies, Lies.” The covers, which were recorded back in December at the historic Abbey Road Studios in London, aren’t available on Apple Music or Spotify, at least not yet.

“Playing the O2 in London last fall and getting to record at Abbey Road, where so much iconic music has been made, was legendary for me and my band. We will never forget it,” Wallen said in a statement, referencing his first time playing London which included a sold-out show at the O2. “I’m so excited to release these Abbey Road Sessions for my fans on the one-year anniversary of One Thing At A Time. They make all this possible.”

“Lies, Lies, Lies” is the first song with new material that Wallen has released in 2024, with his first official release of the year, an acoustic rendition of “Spin You Around,” serving as a response to a scuffle with his former label. The “Abbey Road Sessions” are also home to a cover of “Graveyard Whistling” by Nothing But Thieves. Other songs in the series include “Thinkin’ Bout Me,” “Sunrise,” “Everything I Love,” “I Wrote The Book,” and “I Deserve A Drink.”

The sessions come shortly after word came in that Wallen’s album, One Thing at a Time, is on track to be the longest-running country album at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, beating Garth Brooks’ 1991 LP, Ropin’ the Wind. Alongside the release of the album, Wallen had also released the “One Record At A Time Sessions,” which included acoustic covers of “One Thing At A Time,” “Me + All Your Reasons,” “Keith Whitley,” “Dying Man,” and “Last Night,” which has set numerous records on its own.

Just last month, Morgan Wallen announced the grand opening of his new six-floor bar in downtown Nashville called “This Bar and Tennessee Kitchen,” which is slated for this summer. In addition, he announced a new publishing deal with Warner Chappell Nashville. You can see Wallen throughout the remainder of 2024 on his One Night At A Time Tour. Date and ticket information can be found on his website.
