Morgan Wallen Set To Claim Another Billboard 200 Record

One thing at a time

Morgan Wallen is about to break yet another record. According to Hits Daily Double, the artist’s sophomore album, One Thing at a Time, is on track to become the longest-running country album to sit at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart at 19 non-consecutive weeks. It will surpass Garth Brook’s 1991 album, Ropin’ the Wind, which spent 18 weeks atop the chart. This comes just weeks after One Thing at a Time tied Brooks.

Wallen is no stranger to massive success thanks to his 36-track LP. Before the close of 2023, One Thing at a Time had been streamed nearly six billion times across formats, with that number steadily increasing in 2024. In the United States, the album has been certified 5x platinum by the RIAA, making it one of the biggest country albums of all time.

The album is home to various singles that have lives of their own, including “You Proof,” “Thought You Should Know,” “One Thing at a Time,” “Thinkin’ Bout Me,” and “Cowgirls,” all of which have over 175 million streams on Spotify alone.

Of course, the biggest song on the record is “Last Night,” which was the first song in recorded history to reach one billion on-demand streams in its first year. It’s sat atop the Billboard Hot 100 for 16 non-consecutive weeks and spent countless weeks floating around the top 10. It’s one of the biggest singles of all time, and it’s no surprise the album it resides on is feeling the effects.

One Thing at a Time’s position on the Billboard 200 is another feather in the hat for Wallen’s ongoing success in 2024. Last month, the artist signed a new publishing deal with Warner Chappell Nashville and announced the grand opening of his new six-floor bar, “This Bar and Tennessee Kitchen,” coming this summer to downtown Nashville.

During the year, you can see Wallen in a city near you on his One Night at a Time Tour with guests including Nate Smith, Jelly Roll, Bailey Zimmerman, Lauren Watkins, Koe Wetzel, Parker McCollum, ERNEST, Bryan Martin, and Ella Langley. A full list of dates, as well as ticket information, can be found on Wallen’s website.
