Megan Moroney revealed details of her forthcoming single, “Beautiful Things,” during a promotional event at La La Land coffee shop in Nashville this week.
The track is scheduled for release on Friday, October 24th. Moroney performed an acoustic version of the song at the gathering, joined by an enthusiastic crowd of fans. Excerpts from the performance included lyrics about resilience amid hardship: “Fires burn up canyons, a hurricane can wreck a beach / Words can make a mockingbird forget they’re born to sing / Lies can break a fragile heart, and doubt can crush your dreams / But honey, just take it from me, the world is hard on beautiful things / You shine, it’s gonna be alright, you’re gonna be alright.”
In tandem with the announcement, Moroney collaborated with La La Land on a limited-edition beverage, the Strawberry Fields Matcha, inspired by the single’s theme. Attendees received custom coffee sleeves featuring blank spaces designed for writing personal notes of encouragement, echoing the song’s message of affirmation.
Moroney also treated fans to selections from her 2024 album Am I Okay? during the set, which drew a large turnout and generated significant online buzz through shared videos. Over the last several months, Meg has played the song live on the “Am I Okay?” tour, as well as on TikTok (shown below).
As of yet, there’s no word as to whether “Beautiful Things” and its predecessor “6 Months Later” will be associated with a new album, or if these are just one-off releases for now.
