Texas-country rockstar Koe Wetzel has announced his new single, “Surrounded,” set for release next Friday, July 25th. The track, the first since his 2024 album 9 Lives, has had fans intrigued since he first shared it with his text group alongside a presave link.
“Surrounded” has already made waves with live performances, including an intimate Audacy Totally Private concert in Nashville and a full-band rendition in Durant, Oklahoma. Koe has said in the past that coming off of his commercially massive LP 9 Lives, that he doesn’t plan to deviate much from their scuzzy country-rock formula, and the early returns on this single definitely bear that out.
9 Lives, which debuted at No. 15 on the Billboard 200 and No. 5 on the Top Country Albums chart, blazed a new mainstream trail for Koe as the single “High Road” topped the country airplay chart. Since that single blew up, Wetzel has enjoyed massive touring opportunities at SXSW, Stagecoach, and alongside Morgan Wallen on the “I’m the Problem” tour.
In an Instagram post, Wetzel expressed excitement about new music and gratitude for his fans, urging them to keep Texas in their thoughts amid recent challenges. “Surrounded” promises to deliver Wetzel’s unfiltered energy and emotional depth, solidifying his place as a genre-defying force.
“Surrounded” will be out everywhere next Friday.
