This afternoon, Kings of Leon revealed plans for a new collaboration with Zach Bryan, titled “We’re On To Something,” five days after the release of their feature on his single “Bowery.” The announcement came via a social media clip featuring the lyrics, “I get to rambling talking about the animals, flippin’ around the channels, living in my new flannel pajamas, until the weather is warm, we’re still here so something is clearly working, I’m certain the birds are chirpin’, I’m certain we will be hurtin’, if we make it through the eye of the storm, I think we’re onto something.”
Kings of Leon, the Nashville-based rock band formed by brothers Caleb, Nathan, and Jared Followill along with cousin Matthew Followill, have been a prominent force since their 2003 debut Youth & Young Manhood. Known for hits like “Sex on Fire” and “Use Somebody,” the band has been seen a lot this summer alongside country music’s predominant superstar Zach Bryan.
This collaboration builds on their recent joint appearances. On July 20th, at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, the band joined Bryan for a surprise performance of “Bowery” during Bryan’s sold-out show, which also featured an unexpected duet with Bruce Springsteen on “Atlantic City.” The event was part of a three-night run, highlighting their growing synergy.
Earlier this week at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado, Followill again joined Bryan to sing “Bowery,” thrilling a 10,000-strong crowd and marking Bryan’s third appearance at the venue.
As of yet, there’s no word on when “We’re On To Something” will be released, or whether it will be included on Zach’s forthcoming LP With Heaven On Top.
