Flatland Cavalry have announced their fifth full-length studio album, Work of Heart, set for release on March 27th. The album is available now for pre-add, pre-save, and pre-order.
Recorded at Matchbox Studios in Austin, Texas, the project reunites the Texas-bred six-piece with producer Dwight A. Baker, whose credits include Brandi Carlile and Josh Abbott Band. The 12-track collection continues the band’s blend of West Texas-rooted country while expanding its sonic palette.
Frontman and principal songwriter Cleto Cordero described the album as a reflection of a formative period. “This album is a collection of songs of life, love, and loss collected over a season of living, learning, and growing,” Cordero said in a statement. “My approach has been the same the whole time in the sense of showing up to write a song with all my heart, my mind, and soul.”
The album includes previously released tracks “Gone” and “Never Comin’ Back,” the latter marking the band’s debut single at country radio. The group has also released “On and On,” written by Cordero with Ray Fulcher and Cole Taylor, as an additional preview of the record.
Flatland Cavalry is currently touring internationally, supporting Lainey Wilson throughout February in Australia and New Zealand. Their U.S. headlining run begins March 19 in Mobile, Alabama, and includes additional support dates with Dwight Yoakam and Morgan Wallen, as well as appearances at Troubadour Festival and Tortuga Music Festival.
Work Of Heart will be out everywhere on Friday, March 27th.
