Carter Faith and Wyatt Flores have announced a new collaborative single, “Nothin’ Better to Do,” due out June 26th. The two shared a snippet of the track on Instagram previewing the song from a vintage Cadillac.
The preview captures a late-night, low-stakes proposition between two people with nothing to lose and nowhere to be. “I got a heart, both already broke,” Faith sings. “If you’re still around, come on, there’s nothing to lose, I’m lonely. If you’re lonely, I’m drinking, if you’re drinking, I’m staring at the ceiling. If you’re thinking what I’m thinking, I got all night, it’s alright. If you ain’t got nothing better to do.”
The pairing is a natural one. Both artists are among the most closely watched rising names in country music right now, and both are in the middle of busy years. Faith released her critically acclaimed debut album Cherry Valley last October via MCA, earning an ACM Album of the Year nomination, a rare distinction for an artist without a radio hit to her name. She also recently appeared on the Post Malone stadium tour as a supporting act and is set to make her film debut in a Netflix movie, Heartland, starring Jessica Chastain, later this year.
Flores, a Stillwater, Oklahoma native who surpassed one billion career streams earlier this year, is set to release his anticipated sophomore album, Scared of Heights, on July 31st. He is currently on his extensive Driving All Night Tour.
