Dallas-based rapper BigXThaPlug, was arrested Thursday night according to Dallas County Jail records.
Xavier Landum, known professionally as BigXthaPlug, was charged with possession of less than two ounces of marijuana which is a class B misdemeanor and unlawful possession of a firearm, a Class A misdemeanor.
At roughly 8:45pm on Thursday night, he was pulled over for not having a front license plate. After Landum told the officer that he was in possession of a firearm, it was discovered that Landum was flagged in a criminal database that made it a crime for him to possess a gun.
His second North Texas arrest this year, he was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana.
BigXThaPlug was scheduled to attend an album release party that night for his new album, “I Hope You’re Happy,” at the Cash Cow bar in Deep Ellum. The album, which was officially released on the same day, Aug. 22, featuring collaborations with artists like Jelly Roll, Luke Combs and Shaboozey.
