Zach John King has announced his debut album, I’m What You Get, set for release August 28th. The 20-track project is co-produced by King and Ryan Wilson.
“I wanted to make a project that took all the good and the bad parts of me and just laid it out there,” King said in a statement. “Take it or leave it, this is me. There’s parts of me that I really love on this record, but there’s also parts of me that I regret. In every song, there’s a piece of my story I wanted to share.”
Alongside the announcement, King released a new single from the album, “Run For Them Hills,” co-written by King, Josh Phillips, Jaxon Free, and Matt Dragstrem. “Run For Them Hills is a dead honest song. It started with a phone call to my dad,” King said. “We flipped it on its head and turned it into something positive, about wanting to get back home, back to what keeps you right.”
The album features guest appearances from Brooks & Dunn on “Way To Go,” Brent Cobb on “Choppin Wood,” and Bayker Blankenship on “Life Behind Bars.”
King’s current radio single, “Get To Drinkin’,” sits in the Top 20 on both the MediaBase Country and Billboard Country Airplay charts. He is currently on the road with Morgan Wallen for Wallen’s Still The Problem Tour and will tour with Luke Bryan, Riley Green, and Thomas Rhett in the coming months. King also recently announced a headlining Get To Drinkin’ Tour, kicking off October 1st.
