The Marcus King Band has released Darling Blue / No Room For Blue today, May 1st, expanding on last fall’s Darling Blue with 12 new tracks recorded at Capricorn Studios. The companion collection was originally available exclusively through Record Store Day on November 28 and is now on all streaming platforms.

Where Darling Blue traced the emotional arc of King’s life before and after meeting his wife, Briley, reflecting his love for the Blue Ridge Mountains and his struggles with addiction and heartbreak, No Room For Blue picks up the story from the other side. The new material blends heavy rock, bluegrass, country, blues, and Americana, and according to King, reflects a shift toward clarity and a renewed sense of purpose.

Among the 12 tracks are three reimagined songs: a revamped take on fan-favorite “Delilah,” a duet with Billy Strings on a Macon version of “Dirt,” and a cover of The Allman Brothers’ “Ramblin’ Man,” a song King has long played live.

King and the band are currently on the Waltz Across Texas Tour, a seven-city run through the state this month. That leads into a 39-city Darling Blue Pt. 2 Tour hitting major markets including the US. The run is highlighted by a hometown show at Nashville’s Municipal Auditorium on May 27. Summer festival appearances, including Gulf Coast Jam, Summerfest, and Bourbon & Beyond, will follow.
