Sam Hunt was arrested early last week in Henderson County after local police pulled him over for a traffic violation.

According to multiple sources, the country singer was taken into custody on Jan. 20 for speeding and violating an interlock device in his car. The device, a breathalyzer located in his car, was presumably placed there on court order after his 2019 arrest for driving under the influence. The device requires the user to breathe into a tube and detect a BAC to prevent drunk driving. He was released the same day on a $1,500 bond.

Updates to the report say that all charges against Hunt have been dismissed.

Hunt was in news cycles for this kind of thing in 2019 with his previous arrest and in 2021 when he pled guilty to the charges. As of late, Sam Hunt has stayed pretty under the radar, sending a few songs to radio and embarking on a few short tours. However, it’s been nearly five years since he’s released a full-length LP, totalling only two true albums over the past 11 years.

This is a developing story; check back here for updates as news warrants.
