Old Dominion Announces New Album To Be Released October 6th

Expanding their “Memory Lane” EP from June, Old Dominion has announced that “Memory Lane,” the full-length album will be released this fall. Slated for an October 6 release, “Memory Lane” will be complete with 18 songs with features from Megan Moroney and Blake Shelton.

Lead vocalist and member Matthew Ramsey stated that the band “always knew this was going to be a full album, but we wanted to give our fans the opportunity to absorb it completely. Over the years, we’ve developed a conversation with fans, bad days, big moments, I’d like to think our songs make both better. We wanted to make an album that takes our songs and looks a little deeper into what happens between two people. Just because it’s deep, though, it doesn’t mean the music can’t feel good.”

One of the two features on the album includes “Can’t Break Up Now,” a duet with singer/songwriter Megan Moroney. Commending Moroney, Ramsey says that she’s “a really intuitive singer, but she’s also a very smart songwriter.” Teaming up for the new track, Moroney argued that “the lyrics told a story that we all can relate to. The melody was infectious and it’s not like anything I’ve ever put out.”

In addition to Moroney, Blake Shelton, lends his vocals on “Ain’t Got A Worry,” taking a different spin on the original song on the EP. According to Ramsey, the initial talks with Shelton were “a little surreal” adding that band member Trevor Rosen who co-wrote ‘Sangria,’ didn’t make it “completely crazy to ask him to join us on a track.” After sending some songs over, Shelton eventually picked ‘Ain’t Got A Worry.’

“Memory Lane” is available everywhere October 6.
