After eight days of speculation, Morgan Wallen shared in Phoenix, Arizona tonight that he’ll release the previously-teased remix of his song “Miami,” featuring hip-hop icons Lil Wayne and Rick Ross, this coming Friday, July 25th. In front of his crowd, Wallen remarked, “there’s a remix of my Miami song with Rick Ross and Lil Wayne that’s gonna come out next Friday.”
The announcement follows Wallen’s debut of the track during his performance at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium on July 11, where he surprised fans with the unreleased collaboration during his walkout at the show.
Midway through that set, Wallen paused to share his excitement, shouting out Lil Wayne and Rick Ross for their contributions to the remix. “On that walkout right there, I have to say, shoutout to Lil Wayne and to Rick Ross for hopping on that,” he told the roaring crowd, teasing, “I need to figure out when to drop that.” The performance sparked a frenzy among fans, amplified by a clip of Lil Wayne’s verse posted on Wallen’s Instagram that same night. Earlier this week, he shared Rick Ross’s verse in a separate clip.
The “Miami” remix leans heavily into old-school hip-hop vibes while staying true to Wallen’s country roots, marking another bold step in his genre-blending journey. Wallen has recently collaborated with artists like Lil Durk and MoneyBagg Yo, with his guest verse on “WHISKEY WHISKEY” earning widespread praise. As The New York Times previously noted, the original “Miami” seemed tailor-made for a Rick Ross feature, a vision Wallen has now brought to life alongside Lil Wayne’s distinctive flow.
The remix’s release comes as Wallen continues his “I’m the Problem” tour, with upcoming shows in Tampa and Charlotte. Right now, it’s unclear whether the track will drop as a standalone single or as part of an expanded I’m the Problem release. Wallen previously hinted at another remix on Theo Von’s podcast, mentioning that a verse from BigXthaPlug didn’t make the original album cut, but the addition of Lil Wayne and Rick Ross has taken the project to new heights.
“Miami” featuring Lil Wayne & Rick Ross will be out everywhere this Friday.
