In a surprising move for country radio’s dominant star of the moment, US Radio Updater reported today that Morgan Wallen serviced his song “Cowgirls,” featuring ERNEST, to country radio on April 15th. The song will immediately impact the format and serves as the eighth single to be released from his blockbuster, One Thing At a Time. It follows “You Proof,” “Thought You Should Know,” “One Thing At a Time,” “Last Night,” “Everything I Love,” “Thinkin’ Bout Me,” and “Man Made a Bar,” which all cracked the top five on the Billboard Country Airplay chart.

Despite not releasing any new music in 2024 thus-far, Morgan Wallen has already had a dynamite 2024. In January, One Thing At a Time became the longest-running country album to sit at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart at 19 non-consecutive weeks. It surpassed Garth Brook’s 1991 album, Ropin’ the Wind, which spent 18 weeks atop the chart. He also announced the arrival of a new self-styled bar on Broadway in Nashville called “This Bar and Tennessee Kitchen,” which is slated to open later this year.

Meanwhile, ERNEST is gearing up to release his third studio album, NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE, later this month, which includes guest appearances from Wallen, HARDY, Lainey Wilson, and several others. The lead single “Kiss of Death,” as well as a number of other new tracks, are available now.

“Cowgirls” impacts country radio next Monday, April 15th.
