This morning, Jordan Davis surprised fans with the release of his latest single, “Louisiana Stick,” a tribute to his Louisiana roots from his forthcoming album Learn The Hard Way. The track sees him uniting with blues guitarist extraordinaire Marcus King, and was written by the pair along with Paul DiGiovanni, Chase McGill, Ashley Gorley.
“Louisiana Stick’s” lyricism is very much rooted in the bayou swamp, namechecking magnolias, riverboats, and zydeco rhythms. Lyrics like “Down south in the land of magnolias / I’ll make you my riverboat queen” and “Like the back of your leg to a vinyl seat / Grandmama to a gumbo recipe.”
Davis’s next full-length album Learn The Hard Way will be out everywhere next Friday, August 15th, and is expected to feature recent singles like “Turn This Truck Around” and “I Ain’t Sayin.”
Davis is also gearing up for his Ain’t Enough Road tour, kicking off September 11th in Greater Palm Springs, CA, at Acrisure Arena. The tour will hit iconic venues like Los Angeles’ Greek Theatre (September 18), New York City’s Radio City Music Hall (October 2), and Red Rocks Amphitheatre (September 24).
