Jon Pardi is marking a decade since his breakthrough album California Sunrise with an expanded reissue due June 12th. The California Sunrise (10th Anniversary Edition) adds three previously unreleased vault tracks to the original 12-song tracklist and will also be available as a limited-edition vinyl release.
The three new songs, “Drinkin’ and Dancin’,” “If I Had Another Heart,” and “How Did You Know,” are drawn from the sessions that produced the original album. The first of the three is available to stream now.
California Sunrise arrived in 2016 during the height of the bro-country era and stood apart from its moment, leaning into honky-tonk traditionalism at a time when the format had largely moved away from it. The album went on to be certified 3x Platinum and spawned five Platinum-or-better singles, among them the 7x-Platinum “Head Over Boots” and 6x-Platinum “Dirt On My Boots.” It is widely credited with helping spark a neo-traditional revival that has since reshaped the sound of mainstream country.
“Ten years ago I made a record that would unknowingly change my life,” Pardi said in a statement. “Since then, it’s been one hell of a ride — my family has grown, I’ve seen the world, and I’m out here living my dream. It’s pretty damn cool to see how much people continue to embrace this project even all these years later.”
The anniversary release comes as Pardi continues his headlining Honkytonk Hollywood Tour across the U.S., U.K., and Canada. His current single, “Boots Off,” from his fifth studio album Honkytonk Hollywood, is in its second week at number one on country radio in the U.K.
Pre-orders for the anniversary edition are available now at JonPardi.com.
