Jon Pardi and Luke Bryan have announced their newest collaboration “Cowboys and Plowboys” will be out October 13th.
The two teased the track earlier in the week with Pardi and Bryan in the studio together. This is Pardi’s first release since his hit album Mr. Saturday Night in September 2022 and Bryan last released an EP in early October 2023.
In the snippet released on Instragram, it appears to be a cheesy back and forth song but still has all the country twang and flare that Jon Pardi is known for.
Pardi is currently in the midst of his “Mr. Saturday Night Tour” with dates running through July 2024. He’s joined by Midland, Jackson Dean, Randall King, and Ella Langley with support varying by each city. Bryan is also currently on tour through the end of October and following that up with short residencies in Las Vegas and Riviera Cancun, Mexico.
Since his album California Sunrise catapulted him into mainstream success, Jon Pardi has been a figurehead for the neo-traditional movement in country music. All his albums have created a modern flare of western music with a contemporary rhythm proving pleasing to a wide variety of fanbases. Pardi also put out a cover album, Rancho Fiesta Sessions, with covers ranging from pop and rock classics by Prince and Tom Petty as well as country classics by George Strait.
Luke Bryan was an icon during the peak of the “Bro Country” era during the early 2010’s with tracks like “Country Girl Shake It For Me” and “That’s My Kind Of Night”. As time went on his music has mellowed out a lot with more meaningful projects like Born Here, Live Here, Die Here and Prayin’ In A Deer Stand. Although some of it may be simple and bland Bryan’s music has clearly matured with his age.
