Stalwart country music veteran Jamey Johnson announced his 36-city The Last Honky Tonk Tour today, kicking off June 4th in Wichita, Kansas. Marking his 20th year on the road, Johnson promises a high-energy tour showcasing his timeless musical grit. Tickets are on sale now, with more dates to be announced.

“This tour will be a lot of fun,” Johnson said. “It’s a chance to walk onstage and show what we’ve learned over the past 20 years.” The tour’s title draws from a song he recently recorded, originally by The Wayne Mills Band, featuring the late Jason “Rowdy” Cope. The lyrics, “I’ll be there when they burn the last honky tonk down,” inspired the tour’s name as a tribute to Mills, murdered in 2013, and Cope, who passed in 2021 from diabetes complications.

Produced by Buddy Cannon, Johnson’s new recording of “The Last Honky Tonk” features Jack Mills, Wayne’s son, on guitar. “Jack’s a badass player,” Johnson noted. “His dad would be proud.” The tour will blend hits from Johnson’s 2024 album Midnight Gasoline—his first solo release in 14 years—with over 50 new songs, some debuting live and slated for release later in 2025. “We’ll play new stuff, Midnight Gasoline tracks, and songs from every album,” he shared.

Tickets are on sale now.
