Jamey Johnson will embark on an extensive U.S. headlining run this year, announcing his “Traveling Truebadour” tour set to span from May through October.
The 31-date tour is scheduled to begin May 8 at Anderson Music Hall and currently concludes Oct. 11 at Turning Stone Resort Casino. Additional dates are expected to be announced.
A member of the Grand Ole Opry, Johnson will perform a mix of material throughout the tour, including selections from his most recent album Midnight Gasoline, new, unreleased songs, and catalog staples such as “In Color” and “High Cost of Living.” Known for varying his setlists nightly, Johnson has built a reputation for tailoring performances to each audience.
The tour arrives during a milestone year for the singer-songwriter, marking two decades since the release of his major label debut album The Dollar. Over that span, Johnson has received consistent critical recognition for both his vocal delivery and songwriting.
A 10-time Grammy Award nominee, Johnson is widely regarded as a leading figure in modern traditional country. His songwriting accolades include a rare distinction: he is one of only two artists, alongside Kris Kristofferson, to win Song of the Year honors from both the Academy of Country Music and the Country Music Association in the same year, for “Give It Away” and “In Color.”
Tickets for the “Traveling Truebadour” tour go on sale Friday, April 17 at 10 a.m. local time via Johnson’s official website.
