HARDY Teases New Single “Bottomland”

After a turbulent summer marked by a canceled European tour and the continued rollout of his return to mainstream country music, HARDY is officially back with a new single. This morning, the country-rock provocateur took to Instagram to announce his upcoming track, “Bottomland,” set for release on Friday, August 9th.

The post was simple: a grainy, sepia-toned video of a backwoods field, overlaid with the word “BOTTOMLAND” and the release date in bold. Though HARDY offered no additional context in the post other than a cornstalk emoji, the title alone hints at a deep dive into the Southern storytelling and small-town imagery that’s defined much of his songwriting to date. Faintly, keen-eared listeners can hear the phrase “Bury me in the Bottomland” in the background of the video.

The announcement comes on the heels of a busy and at times chaotic 2025 for the Mississippi native. Just last month, HARDY canceled the European leg of his JIM BOB World Tour, citing personal reasons and prioritizing his “band, crew, and family.” With the next leg kicking off August 14th in Kansas City, “Bottomland” appears perfectly timed to re-energize his fanbase ahead of his North American run.

It also follows the release of his COUNTRY! EP in May — a five-track return to his roots that blended honky-tonk twang with hard rock attitude. While the EP received mixed reviews, with critics praising his production and songwriting chops but questioning the over-reliance on genre clichés, it marked a welcome away from the full-throttle pop-punk of his QUIT! era. Based on the teaser alone, “Bottomland” is expected to continue this trajectory,.

HARDY’s JIM BOB tour resumes in the U.S. on August 14th at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, with additional stops in New York, Tampa, and Atlanta through late September. The new single drops just five days before that kickoff.

“Bottomland” will be out everywhere next Friday.
