Rising country music star Dylan Gossett announced the release of his newest single, “Like I Do,” on Tuesday evening via his Instagram account. The single is set to release this Friday, March 14th.
The Austin native utilized a mash of home videos featuring him and his older brother, Blake, evoking some seriously nostalgic feel amidst the grain and fuzz of old VHS tapes presumably found lying around his parent’s living room. The lyrics from the snippet are contemplative and deeply nostalgic, and they harbor some heavy feelings about growing up and getting old. Again, he’s embodying many of the same poignant motifs that modern country acts have capitalized on.
At 25, Gossett is already making waves in Texas and beyond as another stripped-down, roots-revivalist. His breakout single, “Coal,” went platinum and made a name for the singer-songwriter as a force to be reckoned with amidst the copious amounts of talent that populate the red dirt scene.
The introspective Texan is currently wrapping up overseas tour dates in places like London, Belfast, and Glasgow. His Back 40 Tour recently added dates to keep up with growing ticket demands, and Gossett is set to be on the road until Memorial Day Weekend.
“Like I Do” will be out everywhere Friday, March 14th.
