This week, Brian Kelley announced his new album, Sunshine State of Mind Season Two – Chapter 1, and revealed the release date, June 20th.
Shared in an Instagram post, Kelley previewed the new cover art with a caption that hinted at a new single on the way. “Sunshine State of Mind Season 2 – Chapter 1 😎🥶 My upcoming album will be released June 20th in honor of the first day of SUMMER ‘25! Who wants to hear the next single? 👀”
The new project comes as a second wind from his 2021 album, Sunshine State Of Mind, which has been regarded by many as Brian’s best work. Full of beachy references and unique phrasing, the project felt completely fresh, like a mental vacation after a long, challenging stretch in the COVID-19 pandemic. After that record, fans longed for more of this side of the former Florida Georgia Line singer. However, the music he released in the following years wasn’t exactly what his audience wanted to hear. Songs like “Kiss My Boots” made a bad impression, leaving little excitement for albums like Tennessee Truth and Ed and Mary Margeret’s Son, released in 2024. However, the single “Palm Tree Country” gave hope that a little “Beach Cowboy” may be left in the Florida native.
At long last, Sunshine State of Mind Season Two – Chapter 1 is coming, kicking off the summer with fourteen new tracks. The full track list, including the names of each song, is already available on its pre-release preview on Apple Music.
