In one of the more unexpected collaborations of the summer, Bailey Zimmerman is teaming up with Diplo for a brand new single called “Ashes,” which will be dropping this Friday. The surprise collaboration was officially announced this morning via Bailey’s Instagram after the two teased the track last week with a shared post that generated buzz across social media.
To celebrate and promote, Bailey and the crew hit the neighborhood to pass out free lemonade. “ASHES DROPS THIS FRIDAY, so we decided to pull up on the neighborhood with the boys to give out some free lemonade,” he wrote in the caption. “Thank y’all for all the excitement around this song. IT’S A FREAKIN BANGER!!!” he added.
The announcement comes on the heels of his recent reveal that his sophomore album “Different Night Same Rodeo” will be out everywhere on August 8th. While we don’t have a full preview just yet, early clips hint at a moody, hard-hitting blend of Bailey’s signature rock-infused grit and Diplo’s polished, genre-blurring production.
Bailey, known for heartfelt hits like “Fall in Love” and “Rock and a Hard Place,” has become one of country music’s fastest-rising stars over the past two years. Diplo, for his part, has been lingering around the country world for quite a while at this point collaborating with Morgan Wallen, ERNEST, and even Sturgill Simpson.
“Ashes” officially drops this Friday on all streaming platforms, and judging by the early reaction, fans are more than ready.
