Everything You Missed Last Week in Country Music

The last week of May was a jam-packed one for country music news, full of radio drama, new music, tour announcements, and music much more.

HARDY shares more tracks from QUIT!!

HARDY surprise-released his new song “JIM BOB” on Friday, May 31st. It is now the fourth song he’s released from his upcoming rock album QUIT!!. He has been experimenting with rock for some time now, which was very clear in his record previous records, the mockingbird & THE CROW, which was half rock, half country. QUIT!! will be entirely rock, as HARDY made it clear he wants to venture into this part of his career. He’s also been teasing many other songs from the project, like “SIX FEET UNDER (Caleigh’s Song). QUIT!! will be available everywhere on July 12th of this year.

New Music From Meg

Megan Moroney has become one of the most exciting artists in country music, and she looks to build off that momentum with her upcoming release, “Man on the Moon.” She has been teasing the song for a while and even added it to her live set. It’s set to hit streaming platforms on June 7th, she announced on her Instagram. The rest of her album, Am I Okay? will be available everywhere on July 12th. “Man on the Moon” will be the fourth song released from the record. The bar is set high for Moroney after the success of her debut album Lucky. Not only that, but all of the songs released from her upcoming project have set high expectations for what’s to come.

Zach Bryan Sounds Off

It was reported this week that Zach Bryan was sending his new song “Pink Skies” to pop radio. It didn’t take Bryan long to catch a wave of this news, and he was unhappy. He went on one of his classic social media rants to express his disapproval.

This is one of his many posts about the situation:

This is further proof that Zach Bryan has always been transparent about where he stood with the radio. The situation has since been resolved, and the miscommunication with X has been cleared up.

Alan Jackson Announces His Final Tour Dates

Country legend Alan Jackson is still kicking it as he announced he will hit the road later this year for his “Last Call: One More For The Road” tour. His ten tour dates will kick off on August 2nd in Boston and run through next May when it ends on the 17th in Milwaukee. This will be the last time fans can watch the legend perform before he officially wraps it up. Tickets are already available for Jackson’s fan club members, and sales will go public June 7th at 10:00 am ET. More details can be found on Jackson’s official website.

Morgan Wallen’s Bar is Finally Open

It was also a big week for lower Broadway fans in Nashville. After it was delayed, news broke that “Morgan Wallen’s This Bar & Tennessee Kitchen” would finally open on June 1st. The six-story establishment will surely be one of the most popular spots downtown, given Wallen’s popularity. Wallen’s bar has made a lot of headlines recently as the city denied the sign, and the opening was delayed due to permitting reasons. Wallen wasn’t the only star to open a bar this week; Lainey Wilson also opened her new bar, “Bell Bottoms Up.” Wilson’s establishment took over the old “FGL House.” The announcement that she was opening a bar came just a few weeks ago, so opening it in time for CMA Fest was quick work. These bars will fit right in with Nashville’s culture and could quickly become Nashville staples.
