Zach Bryan announced this evening that his cover of Noeline Hofmann’s “Purple Gas” will be the latest single from his upcoming album Great American Bar Scene, which is out tonight.
“This song brought me to tears the first time I heard it, so Noeline needed to give me the privilege of singing it with her. I have never covered another musician on an album because I was waiting for someone to write a song like this. Noeline resonates like Gillian Welch to me, and Gillian is one of my favorite musicians to ever live with,” Bryan said on X (Twitter).
Part of the rollout for the song includes the option for fans to submit home videos that will be compiled into a fan source video similar to “Something In The Orange” in 2022. Fans can submit videos to https://zachbryan.warnerrecords.com/.
Bryan’s latest release of “Pink Skies” was the first single released from the upcoming album. “Pink Skies” was pushed to pop radio on May 28th and was met with stark backlash from Bryan himself.
Zach Bryan currently is on the road on his 2024 “Quittin’ Time” tour, slated to run through the rest of the year and span the continental United States. Stay updated with Zach Bryan’s latest news and tour dates by following him on social media and visiting his official website.
“Purple Gas” will be available everywhere on Friday.
