It has been confirmed that Tyler Childers will release a new album produced by legendary record producer Rick Rubin (Johnny Cash, the Beastie Boys, and more), though there is currently no confirmed release date for the forthcoming LP. Updates will follow.

In an interview with HITS Daily Double, Peter Edge of RCA expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming Tyler Childers album, saying, “I’m really excited about Tyler Childers’ new album, which is produced by Rick Rubin.” Going deeper, he explained, “He defies expectations, and this new album goes even further. The great thing about Tyler is that he does it the way he wants to do it. He’s playing giant venues, and he’s making the music he wants to make.

Childers has also been performing “Jersey Giant” again during his live shows, which may indicate that the track could appear on the new record. Originally written about a past relationship, Childers chose not to release the song himself and instead gave it to Elle King to record as her own.

It’s been nearly two years since the world received Tyler’s last project, Rustlin’ In The Rain, which included songs like “In Your Love” and his cover of S.G. Goodman’s “Space And Time.” In 2024, Childers was included on the movie soundtrack Twisters: The Album, for which he released “Song While You’re Away.”

Although it is unclear when the new record will be released, it will likely be one of Childers’s most memorable albums, especially with Rick Rubin, one of the world’s most renowned producers, by his side.

Rick Rubin has an extensive A-list discography spanning decades, shaping genres like hip-hop, rock, and pop at the turn of the century. Co-founding Def Jam Records, he’s was a quintessential force bringing hip-hop into the mainstream through acts like Beastie Boys, Run-DMC, and made massive waves in pop music alongside the likes of Red Hot Chili Peppers, Johnny Cash, and Adele.
