Sam Hunt has announced that his next single, titled “Locked Up”, will be released this coming Friday, March 22nd. The single is the latest in a string of releases from Hunt following the release of his sophomore album, Southside, in 2020.
Hunt has managed to remain active over the past few years while not ever releasing an official project. Between touring, guest appearances on other tracks, and releasing sporadic singles of his own, Hunt continues to chart well at country radio and appear in many mainstream country playlists on Apple Music and Spotify. His 2023 single, “Outskirts”, continues to chart in the top 10 at country radio.
Back in May of last year, Sam Hunt shared on Instagram that he didn’t have a full-length album in the works, at least at the time. Judging by the scarcity of new music from the artist, it seems that he’s perfectly content with shipping out a few singles here and there to maintain his presence in music. He’s currently on tour with Brett Young and Lily Rose, and has a number of appearances at festivals lined up. You can view the full list of dates and ticket information on his website.
