Riley Green and Ella Langley are gearing up for the release of their surprise second collaboration, “Don’t Mind If I Do,” which will be available on streaming platforms this Friday. The song comes hot on the heels of Green’s announcement of his upcoming album, also titled Don’t Mind If I Do, which will be out everywhere on October 18th.
On the song, Riley remarked, “I wrote this song based off the line ‘I’m one memory away from falling all the way apart,’ trying to capture that moment when you think you’re almost over someone, but one thought can pull you back into how much you miss that relationship. It quickly evolved into a duet, and I didn’t really have Ella in mind for this song, but I had her originally cut vocals on it for a demo, and she killed it in the studio. I couldn’t imagine having someone else on the song after hearing her sing it.”
The pair first made waves earlier this year with their viral summer hit, “You Look Like You Love Me,” a breakout success that catapulted their partnership into the spotlight. Fans fell in love with the duo’s natural chemistry, and the song quickly gained traction on social media platforms like TikTok, quickly becoming one of the marquee country songs of 2024.
Green, whose hits like “I Wish Grandpas Never Died” have made him a household name in country music, has been keeping fans on their toes; less than a year ago, he released his full-length third album Ain’t My Last Rodeo before dropping a seven-song project called Way Out Here. Just months later, he’s already back with a new batch of songs, including collaborations with Luke Bryan and of course, Ella Langley.
Ella Langley, a rising star known for her powerful vocals and sassy attitude, brings her signature energy to the track, complementing Green’s laid-back style. Her debut album hangover dropped earlier this year, immediately catapulting her into the mainstream scene as one of the most impressive new artists around.
With “You Look Like You Love Me” still riding high from its viral success, “Don’t Mind If I Do” is set to make just as big of a splash on Friday. The album Don’t Mind If I Do will be available everywhere on October 18th.
