Randy Travis announced on Instagram that the “More Life” tour will be extended by 30 dates today. Although Travis won’t be singing himself, James Dupree will be taking over the vocals and will be joined by Travis’s original band.
Tickets will be available on March 7th from his website and second-hand ticketing platforms.
“When I began my recovery almost 12 years ago, many things changed, but one thing stayed the same—my desire to share new music and create new memories,” Travis wrote when his song “Horses In Heaven” was announced. “I’m grateful to have the opportunity to continue doing that thanks to family, friends, fans, and God’s grace.”
His “new” music has been the center of heavy debate regarding using artificial intelligence to recreate his original sound. He’s been periodically out of the spotlight since his life-altering stroke in 2013.
Randy Travis, one of the most iconic voices of the 90s and early 2000s, had world-renowned hits like “Deeper Than The Holler” and “Three Wooden Crosses.” He was the first country artist to go multi-platinum and cemented himself as one of the all-time greats in the genre.
