Post Malone, the genre-agnostic chameleon known for his chart-topping hits in hip-hop and pop, is set to surprise fans with his first-ever full-length country album, “F-1 Trillion,” scheduled for release on August 16th This move has been a long time coming, following years of masterful cover songs and allusions to his country fandom.
For fans of Posty’s smash hit with Morgan Wallen, Malone’s foray into country promises a fresh yet familiar sound, likely to appeal to both his existing fanbase, who’s used to his sonic switch-ups, and country fans who dig his ear for a strong hook.
The album features collaborations with some of the biggest names in country music, including Blake Shelton, Luke Combs, and of course, Morgan Wallen. Over the last few weeks, Post has endeared himself to the Nashville community with appearances at some of its biggest establishments alongside the genre’s biggest stars. Last month, he hit the ACM Awards stage to sing a sultry, throwback tune, as well as the Allman Brother’s southern rock classic “Ramblin’ Man” with host Reba McEntire.
Just last night, Post Malone dropped into the Bluebird Cafe, a premiere songwriters’ haunt, to duet “I Had Some Help” with Lainey Wilson and Ashley Gorley acoustically, along with a handful of other tunes. He also took the stage for a surprise performance with Blake Shelton at CMA Fest earlier this month.
For fans and music lovers alike, August 16th marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter in Post Malone’s career; the single “Pour Me a Drink” with Blake Shelton will be available everywhere this Friday, June 21st.
