It’s been a busy holiday season for Morgan Wallen, who’s just now getting around to putting some lights up.

The CMA Entertainer of the Year has finally received approval on the proposal for construction on the sign to hang outside of “This Bar and Tennessee Kitchen,” Wallen’s new bar and grill that opened in Nashville, Tennessee, over the summer. Council members previously struck down the proposal back in May, citing a pending felony charge and use of racial slurs as reasons for its rejection.

Wallen, partnered with TC Restaurant Group, saw an easy approval to erect their sign this past Tuesday after external court cases with the singer had been settled. Nashville city council voted 30-1 on an aerial encroachment outside Wallen’snew establishment to advertise its business. The vote noted six absent members despite its approval. The sole vote against the encroachment was Council member Delishia Porterfield, who spoke out against Wallen when the resolution first arrived on her desk six months ago.

“I don’t want to see a billboard up with the name of a person who’s throwing chairs off of balconies and who is saying racial slurs,” Said Council member Delishia Porterfield back in May.

Wallen’s aforementioned pending court cases were resolved this past week, when the singer pleaded guilty to two counts of reckless engagement. The case in question stems from Wallen’s incident at Eric Church’s Chief’s Bar on Broadway, where he hurled a chair from the building’s rooftop, landing mere feet away from police officers on the ground.

The charges against Wallen have been reduced in the past few months, where they were originally three Class E felonies, including reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon. His current sentence sees him spending seven days in a DUI detention facility before a two-year period of supervised probation.
