Morgan Wallen announced on his X that he will be canceling his next three shows in Tampa and Charlotte due to illness. The Tampa show has been moved to October 4th and the Charlotte shows have been rescheduled for October 18th and 19th. “I hate to reschedule shows, but I powered through being sick in Tampa last night and unfortunately woke up feeling way worse today. I would not give you guys anywhere near 100% tonight,” Wallen shared in his statement.
This isn’t the first time the Tennessee native has had to cancel shows. Last year, Wallen became the center of controversy when he canceled his show at Ole Miss due to vocal issues minutes before he was scheduled to go on. That led to six weeks’ worth of postponements to avoid permanent damage to his vocal cords. The controversy stirred up rumors that Wallen may have been going to rehab to take care of an alcohol problem, but no further evidence of that was ever revealed.
Morgan Wallen is currently on the “One Night At A Time Tour” and has artists like Lainey Wilson, Jelly Roll, Bailey Zimmerman, and others supporting him on select dates. Wallen’s tour has been one of the biggest in the world, as he has sold out stadiums across the United States. He also just played a show in London, where he broke the record for the largest country concert ever in the United Kingdom. For more information about his tour, visit his website.
