Country music icon Miranda Lambert is set to release her latest single, “Dammit Randy,” this Friday, June 28th, promising a blend of her signature storytelling and powerful vocals. The song, which Miranda coyly teased on Instagram earlier today, is expected to showcase Lambert’s knack for capturing the essence of real-life characters and experiences in her music.
“Dammit Randy” comes at a pivotal time in Lambert’s career, following her recent two-year residency in Las Vegas and the announcement of a brand-new summer tour. The tour, which kicks off in Ashland, Kentucky, and runs through August before wrapping up in Atlantic City, New Jersey, will be the first time fans can hear tracks from her last album “Palomino” performed live.
Lambert has been relatively quiet about the specifics of her upcoming music, but “Dammit Randy” could very well be a standout track. The song’s title alone has sparked curiosity, with fans eager to discover whether its title is an allusion to country music icon Randy Travis, or perhaps a character of Miranda’s own invention.
In addition to her solo projects, Lambert has been actively involved in collaborations of other kinds; most recently, she has partnered with Big Loud Records and songwriter Jon Randall to launch Big Loud Texas, a venture focused on promoting new talent from the Texas country and red dirt scenes.
Tickets for Lambert’s summer tour are available on her website, and fans are encouraged to secure their spots early to experience the live debut of “Dammit Randy,” as well as the many hits from her extensive catalog.
Back in April, Miranda Lambert announced that she’ll be releasing her first LP in two years soon. Its first single “Wranglers” marked the first song recorded with her new label home, a joint venture between Republic Records and Big Loud.
“Dammit Randy” is set to be available across all streaming platforms this Friday.
