At midnight, Midland unveiled their latest single, “Lucky Sometimes.” The news was accompanied by the announcement of their fifth studio album, Barely Blue, set to drop on Friday, September 20th. “It’s the first song on the album and an introduction to the new sonic landscape that Midland found with the brilliant Dave Cobb at the helm,” lead singer Mark Wystrach shared, igniting a wave of excitement among fans.
“Lucky Sometimes” will serve as the opening song to the eight-track project. Grammy winner Dave Cobb produced the entire LP. Two of the eight songs have now been released, as they released “Old Fashioned Feeling” back in May.
This is just Midland’s third original song in the last two years. Outside of that, they have released covers of songs like “Wichita Lineman” or Tom Petty’s “Mary Jane’s Last Dance.”
Midland also unveiled their star-studded “Get Lucky” tour, promising a diverse lineup of supporting acts including Tanya Tucker, Solin Stough, Colby Acuff, Elvie Shane, Jackson Dean, and the Wilder Blue. The tour, commencing on September 19th in Cincinnati, will traverse the country, hitting iconic locations like Red Rocks, before culminating in a grand finale in Austin, Texas. Tickets for this not-to-be-missed event will be available for purchase starting Friday, June 28th. For more information, visit Midland’s website.
“Lucky Sometimes” is available everywhere now, along with the previously-released single “Old Fashioned Feeling.” The rest of the trio’s album, Barely Blue, will be available everywhere on September 20th.
