As anticipation builds for Lainey Wilson’s next album Whirlwind, we’re getting yet another preview of the album with a new song due out this week.
In a press release, Wilson announced that her new song “Good Horses” will be released this Friday, August 2nd. The song is a collaboration with country superstar Miranda Lambert, marking the first time Wilson has included a collaboration on one of her own projects and the first duet between the two artists. “Good Horses” follows the release of previous singles “Hang Tight Honey,” “Country’s Cool Again,” and “4x4xU.”
Wilson, Lambert, and Luke Dick wrote this track together. It’s described as “a soulful experience, evoking a sense of longing and familiarity, while exploring the theme of how love will always find its way back home – no matter where you are in the world.”
Her collaboration with Miranda is another notch in Wilson’s belt of achievements this year alone. She earned a Grammy award earlier this year for Best Country Album, became a member of the Grand Ole Opry, and embarked on her Country’s Cool Again headlining tour across North America. She also opened her bar in downtown Nashville and was featured on the soundtrack for the 2024 film Twisters with her song “Out of Oklahoma.”
