Kenny Chesney has announced that his 20th studio album Born will be released on March 29th. The 8x CMA and ACM Entertainer of the Year’s latest project was announced on social media, featuring a simplistic cover of Chesney looking straight into the camera with the ocean behind him.
Born comes as Chesney’s latest single, “Take Her Home,” continues to climb the charts and gets closer to breaking into the Top 25 at country radio.
In a press release, Chesney admits that while he’s announcing the album now, he hasn’t quite decided which songs will end up making the cut.
“Normally, we wait until it’s all figured out, the T’s are crossed, the I’s are dotted,” Chesney says. “But everything about this record’s been different – from how much time we’ve spent, the different ways we recorded and wrote and found songs – so why not let the fans know as we’re finishing up? We make this music for them, so, here you go. It’s official: BORN, March 29 – and you’ve seen the cover. Now to the final line-up, and maybe getting a couple more out there.”
The “No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems” singer promises to deliver a similar feel with Born to his previous releases, continuing to find songs that tell “the story of who we are…how we live, breathe, work, rock, kick back and sometimes get tangled up in feelings that are anything but simple.”
The album will mark the first full-length Kenny Chesney album since Here and Now in 2020, which features singles “Everyone She Knows” and “Tip of My Tongue.”
Born will drop just in time for his Sun Goes Down stadium tour that kicks off April 20th in Tampa, Florida. He’ll be joined by Zac Brown Band, Megan Moroney, and famous collaborator Uncle Kracker.
