Kelsea Ballerini is teaming up with indie-folk sensation Noah Kahan for the release of her latest single, “cowboys cry too.” The collaboration is set to drop this Friday, June 28th.
Ballerini, known for her chart-topping pop-country hits “Peter Pan,” and “Miss Me More” announced the single this morning via her Instagram. Back in May, we saw the duo perform a mashup of Kahan’s “Stick Season” and Ballerini’s “Mountain With A View” at the 59th annual ACM awards. This partnership sees Kahan, whose soulful and introspective sound has garnered a dedicated fanbase, continue to slowly dip into the country music world, following recent collaborations with Kacey Musgraves and Post Malone.
This will be Ballerini’s first new release since her surprise 2023 album “Rolling Up The Welcome Mat (For Good).” “cowboys cry too” is set to mark a “new chapter of music” for Ballerini, as she remarked on social media. In the meantime, fans can catch Kelsea Ballerini on tour this summer in Durant, OK, Austin, TX, and Newton, IA.
Meanwhile, Noah Kahan is also traversing the country in support of his album “Stick Season (Forever),” which continues to make waves as one of the biggest alternative releases of the last few years. As of yet, there’s no word on his next project, and whether he has more flirtations with country music in his future.
“cowboys cry too” will be available on all platforms this Friday.
