After debuting the song for the first time at Stagecoach this past weekend, Post Malone and Morgan Wallen’s duet, titled “I Had Some Help,” will officially be released to streaming platforms on Friday, May 10th. The crossover artist and country superstar shared the news on social media, with the track serving as the lead single to Malone’s upcoming country album.
“I Had Some Help” may very well be one of the most anticipated songs of the year. After being first teased in March, fans have shared it tens of millions of times across social media in anticipation of its eventual release. It marks Malone and Wallen’s first time officially collaborating, with both appearing on the same album for the first time in March thanks to HIXTAPE: Vol 3: DIFFTAPE, which featured Malone covering Joe Diffie’s “Pickup Man.”
Malone’s foray into country music has been coming for a long time. From covering Sturgill Simpson and Brad Paisley to performing at the CMA Awards and Stagecoach, the “Circles” singer has had quite the journey to the genre, parting ways with his typical pop/hip-hop soundscape for a new one with acoustic guitars and percussion this past year. Elements of his new sound can be found on his previous album, Austin, but in 2024, he’s taking it all the way with collaborations with some of Nashville’s biggest stars, including Morgan Wallen and Luke Combs.
It’s unclear when Malone’s country album will be released, but at this rate, we’ll probably find out sooner rather than later.
