Garth Brooks is being sued by his former make-up artist for rape and sexual assault, according to a lawsuit obtained by TMZ.
The woman in the lawsuit says she was Trisha Yearwood’s make-up artist before Brooks hired her for the same position. The suit claims that in May 2019, Brooks took her to a Grammy tribute to Sam Moore, but realized they were the only ones traveling when she boarded his private plane.
Once the pair got to L.A., she claimed that Brooks had only rented one hotel room for them and denied her request for a second room. He then suddenly appeared in the doorway completely naked and forced her onto a bed in another room, where he overpowered and raped her.
She claims that after the incident, it was business as usual, and she had his hair and make-up ready for the event. At the time of the Grammy event, she was reportedly dealing with financial trouble, so she took the job, and Brooks took advantage of her situation.
The woman also recalls an incident in 2019 at Brooks’s home, in which he came out of the shower with an erection and put her hands on his penis. Allegedly, he made suggestive comments detailing a fantasy he had about her performing oral sex on him.
The accuser says that this incident happened before the Grammy event, which she says was painful and added trauma. Brooks would also fondle her breasts while she did his hair and make-up and repeatedly told him to stop, she claims.
The woman is suing Brooks for damages. TMZ reached out to Garth Brooks’ camp for comment but had not received a response at the time of publication.
