Dylan Gossett has signed with Big Loud Texas/Mercury Records, he announced on Instagram.
Big Loud Texas/Mercury Records is a new collaboration with Range Media Partners. Big Loud Texas was recently announced as a venture between Miranda Lambert, Jon Randall, and Big Loud Records. Gossett recently released his debut EP No Better Time independently and future projects will be under the new label.
“After meeting with Jon, Miranda, and Seth [England] from Big Loud, it was a dream scenario to be able to combine forces and do this all together as a team,” Gossett told Billboard.
Originally Gossett never had plans of performing to this scale. He just wanted to be able to perform for his friends and family in a smaller setting. “Mainly, me, my brother, and my cousin would play songs we wrote, but everyone would sing.”
He started the year posting covers of songs from The Lumineers and Flatland Cavalry before releasing his first original song, “To Be Free”. The song currently has 6.5 million streams on Spotify but it was his next release “Coal” that truly put him on the map. Having amassed more than 43 million streams on Spotify it’s his biggest song to date. “‘Coal’ is just a meaningful song I wrote about a tougher time,” Gossett says. “I felt like I was in a bit of a rut with my career and had some family things going on. Writing that song helped me to mentally just get through it and I think that’s why it’s so relatable to people as well — everybody goes through these types of things every day.”
His debut EP No Better Time is currently available on all streaming platforms.
