Emerging red dirt singer-songwriter Dylan Gossett is enjoying a massive boon with his breakout single “Coal” finally impacting the Billboard Hot 100 chart at #89. The song has garnered praise for its heartfelt storytelling and compelling lyrics, resonating with listeners and earning Gossett a spot on the biggest singles chart in the land.
Released back in July, “Coal” has steadily gained momentum, showcasing Gossett’s penchant for passionate for selling a lyric. The track’s popularity stems from its thoughtful, blue collar relatability and acoustic, no-frills production. On the song, Dylan Gossett remarked “‘Coal’ is just a meaningful song I wrote about a tougher time. I felt like I was in a bit of a rut with my career and had some family things going on. Writing that song helped me to mentally just get through it and I think that’s why it’s so relatable to people as well — everybody goes through these types of things every day.”
Since December, Dylan Gossett has steadily earned some impressive opportunities. He was the first artist to sign with Miranda Lambert and Jon Randall’s imprint of Big Loud Records, Big Loud Texas. With his momentum at an all-time high, he announced a nationwide tour kicking off in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida in February. Tickets are available here.
