Country music star and former frontman for Hootie and the Blowfish, Darius Rucker was arrested on Thursday, February 1st in Williamson County, Tennessee. The reason for the arrest was two counts of possession/casual exchange of a controlled substance and a violation for driving with an expired registration. Rucker was released from jail later the same day. All charges against Rucker are misdemeanors.
A sheriff with the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office told iHeartRadio that Rucker’s bond was set for 10,500. Rucker’s attorney, Mark Puryear, tells TMZ “Darius Rucker is fully cooperating with authorities related to misdemeanor charges.”
Darius Rucker grew to stardom in 2008 and notched nine #1 hits on the Country Airplay charts under his belt since then including songs like, “Don’t Think I Don’t Think About It”, “Alright”, “This”, and “Wagon Wheel.”
